Curious about ArTex?

Here is a little history for you.

ArTex was founded in March 2007 by Karen Holt and Katie Pierce and other students interested in art and architecture libraries and archives.

Last year ArTex event's included B-scene at the Blanton Museum of Art, tours of the Alexander Architectural Archive and the Architecture and Planning Library, and a brown bag lunch with Beth Dodd, Curator of the Alexander Architectural Archive.

We are just beginning to plan events for this year and look forward to meeting you and hearing about your interests and ideas. ArTex hopes to take advantage of all of the opportunities Austin has to offer for all of us interested in cultural events and visual collections.

Karen recently began her second year in the School of Information. She has a Master's in Modern Art and Theory and spent the summer interning at the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. She currently works at the Visual Resouces Collection in the School of Architecture.

Katie graduated from the School of Information in August 2007 but just won't leave! She started the Architectural History program in the UT School of Architecture this fall. She spent her summer working on several projects at the Alexander Architectural Archive.
